On Ceremony and Rituals
No matter how deeply connected and committed we may be to our practice as healers it is imperative to be witnessed by another from time to time.
It is ingrained in our being to need the touch of another’s healing hand and to have space held for us without judgment.
It’s imperative to have another’s insight and perspective offered in kind, when we may be blinded by the depths of our limited view point.
It is imperative because self-love isn’t about always being self-sufficient. It is also about knowing when we need another and allowing ourselves to be loved and held.
I allowed three people – three healers, to hold space for an unravelling of a past life…perhaps a few lives intertwined.
I released the pain of lifetimes with a ritual, with a ceremony.
I journeyed to Fire and merged with her in order to embody her wisdom and I felt her sweet flames take away the heaviness I had been carrying for way too long.
I won’t get into the details of my ritual or what it represents, as those details are personal and for my soul to hold in private.
I will however, invite you to the wonders of ritual and ceremony.
The energy that we put into the preparation for a healing journey, the sacred ritual that generates awe, as every drum beat and every movement carries intention, is where a lot of the healing work occurs.
Healing is a process and doesn’t just occur on a massage table.
Healing takes time, and consistency, it takes a few runs to build energy…to keep building and building so it naturally ruptures into release.
Rituals and ceremony aid in building that energy, building and building so it naturally becomes a way of living.
Your life becomes sacred ritual.
Rituals and Ceremony pull us out of the ordinary realm of day to day life.
We become part of a world where everything slows down, every motion is experienced with intent as healing energies culminate at the hands of spirit allies, reaching an aphex, where magic and spirit meets, kisses, and releases the pain.
I allowed the Moon to be my witness during the final full moon of the decade, as she held space for me while the fire finally freed me.
My invitation is for you to allow me to hold the same space for you with ritual and ceremony, as my teacher has led me.
When you are ready to release, I’ll be honoured to do the same for you.
Wishing you all the courage to let go of that which no longer serves you, with ease and grace.
Love,
Satyana Maya
